Guys, here's how to have an amazing wedding: June in the Berkshires - Stonover Farm is where we were at here; food from these places; Fire Roasted Catering, The Meat Market, and SoCo Creamery; wedding customs from multiple cultures - specifically dance moves; flowers that include peonies (currently my new - and Instagram new flower obsession); lots of cocktails; a beautiful day; a good DJ; people that can relax and have fun!
It's been awhile, but I'm excited to finally share some of the photos I took from our styled shoot in Havana, Cuba, back in January of this year. My friend Danny, who's beautiful work you can see here, organized and planned our amazing trip, all the way down to hauling these amazing bridal gowns to Cuba. We got three beautiful local models, and a great local make-up and hair team, and styling help from Ferriday Events who traveled down with us too. A big thank you to our beautiful and sweet models - Rocio, Raquel, Annabella, and Alejandro. This was kind of my dream photo scape - beautiful colors and textures all on top of old Spanish architecture, with vintage cars in the background. It's the perfect contrast for these beautiful young woman in gorgeous flowing gowns.
It's not every day that I can book a session this close to sunset, but when the opportunity presents itself, I can't pass it up! I LOVE my family sessions, I LOVE working with kids, they are my favorite, but one of the biggest challenges is working around the light of the day and how that works with children's schedules. My kids are asleep these days before the sun is down, and even if they are awake at that time, they are grumpy and definitely in no mood for a photo shoot. It's way too close to bed time for little minds, not to mention parent's are super ready for the day to wind down rather than add one more activity to their insane day of keeping their children alive, happy, and fed. So, that being said, yes, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to take my camera out around the time the sun makes pretty colors :)
